Bishop Visits Barkur Maryknoll School and inspire children.

Udupi: As a part of ongoing three days Pastoral Visit of Bishop of Udupi Diocese, Rt Rev. Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo, visited to Maryknoll Higher Primary School Hosala – Barkur, as the atmosphere here was typically one of excitement and anticipation.

On Monday, 14th October, 2024, at 10.00 am, Bishop was cordially welcomed by the Head Mistress Mrs Joyce DSa, with a bouquet of roses. Correspondent of the School and Parish Priest, Rev Fr Ronald Miranda, Vice President of the Parish Pastoral Council Mr Joseph Fernandes, PTA President Mr Rama Poojary, School Management committee members too were accompanied and present during the visit.

In a short stage programme arranged in the School Auditorium, the small children greeted Bishop with songs and cheers creating a lively atmosphere. In a touching gesture, Bishop mingled with them sharing stories and emphasised compassion, kindness and respects for their teachers. Bishop blessed all the students and staff, asking for guidance, wisdom and strength for their studies and daily lives through the Patroness of the School, Mother Mary.

Later Bishop met all the teachers who were introduced by HM and Correspondent who briefed the present status of the School, role of St Peters Associations – both Barkur – Mumbai & Bangalore, Mother Mary Charitable Trust, GBCT, along with parents, other donors and contributors especially the past students and Old Students Association.

Bishop’s visit to Maryknoll Primary School was a meaningful and uplifting experience for both the students and staff. His message of hope and encouragement resonated well, inspiring these 85 year old Kannada Medium children to embrace their education and values.

On behalf of the HM, and the school community Sangeetha Teacher, thanked Bishop, the Parish Priest and all the dignitaries and wholeheartedly appreciated the bishop’s commitment and as they looked forward to future interactions.
