Udupi: Milagres College Kallianpur celebrated independence day with much devotion and fervour. Dr Vincent Alva, Principal unfurled the National Flag. All the students and teachers sang the National Anthem and patriotic songs. Ms Sushmitha, Physics faculty of Milagres P U College spoke aptly to suit the occasion. She stressed in her address the joyful progress our country has made in the field of health, education, poverty alleviation, catering to the needs of the disadvantaged and marginalised categories, agriculture,small scale industries and many more.
She also enlightened and exhorted every student to be responsible for their own destiny in life and called upon to understand the need for self sacrifice and cooperation to combat the limitations pertaining to the inequalities and issues in welfare of people.
Dr Vincent Alva, Principal in his message called upon everyone to keep the spirit of independence day on a day today basis. Being responsible for everything and working towards a fare society he said is the basic responsibility one can show.
Mrs Savitha Kumari, Principal, Milagres P U College Kallianpur was present. The NCC unit of the college has put up an attractive parade on the occasion. Alumni, parents and students were present in large numbers.
