Mount Rosary English High School Celebrates Colourful Independence Day.

Udupi: The open ground was filled with around 1550 plus children, their parents, well-wishers and parishioners around 8.30 am to honour the National Tri-colour.  Once the Guests and dignitaries arrived in a procession to the stage, student leaders gave a brief importance of the day as the nation woke up to revere and remember the great sacrifices of the freedom fighters, national leaders.

Headmistress Sr Ancilla Roshni DMello, SRA, extended a warm and cordial welcome to all guests and parents, teachers and students.

Assistant Parish priest Rev Fr Oliver Nazareth, unfurled the National flag and in his address outlined the freedom movement, process of preparation of Independent India’s Constitution, the base of our largest Democracy in the world and the progress achieved during the past 76 years in almost all fields – education, healthcare, space and science, industries and agriculture. Corruption and communalism are the two deceases spreading faster than ever before and cautioned the young children to be truthful and sincere…!

Parish priest Rev Dr. Roque DSouza presided over the beautifully organised parade, extended the national festival’s greetings to all gathered.  He told India is a great country of supreme ideals – ‘Satyameva Jayate, Vasudaiva Kutumbakam which teach us to live and let other live and mutual respect for each other. Unity in diversity and national spirit to be cultivated in young minds and Mount Rosary teach them both in letter and spirit in this temple of learning’ he said.

Among others, Vice President of the Parish pastoral council, Mr Luke DSouza, Members of the Management Committee, PTA President, Secretary, other office bearers and donors were present to be the witnesses of a wonderful display of talents by the well trained students, from their respective teachers from almost all classes and ages.

Students took not only the responsibilities participating but also of presenting the whole event so meticulously which lasted for more than an hour, enjoyed by the spectators.
