Udupi: St. Joseph Higher Primary School and Milagres Kannada Medium High School Kallianpur jointly celebrated their Annual Sports Festival on Friday, October 13, 2023 for the academic year 2023-24. The Milagres Stadium was alive with energy and enthusiasm as students, alumni, parents, and esteemed guests came together to celebrate the spirit of sportsmanship.
The event was graced by a host of distinguished guests, all of whom added significance to the occasion:
Very Rev. Fr. Valerian Mendonca, Correspondent of Milagres Institutions presided over the event. The Chief Guest Mr. Venu, Stuti Sports Gallery (Alumni and Sportsperson). Mr. Melwyn Sequeira, Vice President, PPC, Milagres Cathedral, Kallianpur.
A spectacular March fast was presented by the students of both the Schools with discipline and rhythm. God’s grace was imlpored upon the program by the meaningful prayer song by the students.
A heartfelt and warm welcome was extended by Sr Anitha Dsouza the Headmistress of Milagres High School to all the attendees, including the President and members of the PTA., Old Students Association and members, teachers, and non-teaching staff.
The sports festival commenced with an impressive opening ceremony of hoisting the School flag by the Correspondent ,marked by the lighting of the sports torch by the Chief guest Mr. Venu, the recitation of the sports pledge led by sports secretary Master Prathwik, all signifying the spirit of fair play and sportsmanship.
The stadium was filled with cheers and applause as students from various grades competed in a wide range of athletic events as the students exhibited exceptional talent and dedication in their pursuits, making the event a resounding success.
The event’s esteemed guests shared inspiring words encouraging the students to embrace the values of discipline, teamwork, and perseverance as a source of motivation to excel in life.
As the result of wonderful teamwork by both Schools under the leadership of Mr Cyprian Crasta the Physical Education Teacher of Milagres High School with the guidance of both Headmistresses the event became a successful one.
The event ended with the distribution of prizes to the winners acknowledging their hard work and dedication.
