Bishop’s Pastoral visit to Mount Rosary Church Three days official visit started on Saturday, 14th September, 2024.

Udupi: At sharp 4.00 pm the parish family assembled at the Church to accord both traditional and ceremonial welcome to visiting Bishop, which involved a series of respectful and culturally appropriate gestures.

A delegation of led by Parish Priest, Rev Dr Roque DSouza, Assistant Rev Fr Oliver Nazareth, VP of PPC Mr Luke DSouza, Superior of the Convent, other church officials, community leaders, garlanded and offered bouquets both as a symbol of respect and honour to the Bishop on arrival and the parishioners greeted the bishop upon arrival, and Vicar delivered a formal welcome speech, highlighting the significance of the visit and expressing gratitude.

All the ceremonies were conducted with the utmost respect and in accordance with local customs, involving Mount Rosary School Band, YCS and ICYM and all other pious organisations of the Church. In short the house of God thrilled to receive Bishop Rt Rev Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo, and later he paid visit to Cemetery to pray for the departed brethren and tomorrow 56 children receive Sacrament of Confirmation at 8.00 am Holy Mass, as they radiate hope and reflecting love.

It’s a once in three year’s opportunity as the parishioners march together in Faith, hand in hand, spreading joy, fostering growth and deepening our roots.
