Udupi: On November 12, 2023, the elders’ day was celebrated at Milagres Cathedral, Kallianpur, organized by the Family Commission.There was confession for elders before the mass.
The 9:30 am mass was celebrated by Fr. Valerian Mendonca. This was followed by a breakfast and tea.
The elders gathered at Milagres Tricentenary Hall, where the program commenced with a prayer song, and the children of the Marian Sodality presented a welcome dance.
Mr. Melwyn Sequeira, Vice President of the PPC, extended a warm welcome.
Mr. Leslie Aroza, the Diocesan Family Commission Secretary, was the chief guest and he emphasizd on the significant role of elders in the family and the community.
Fr. Valerian Mendonca shared a brief message on this occasion.
Alfred D’Souza and Leena Fernandes, representing the elders expressed their feelings on the occasion.
Some elders entertained everyone with some favorite old songs. The PPC Secretary delivered the vote of thanks.
Ann Lewis hosted the event, concluding with a sumptuous meal that left all elders joyous.
