Udupi: Skill is better than strength. Skill plays a vital role in building a career. One among them is Entrepreneurship. This skill plays a vital role in every student’s professional career. This helps students develop wide range of skills and competencies that are valuable in both their personal and professional lives. It teaches them how to think creatively and critically, equip them how to identify and solve problems, and to calculate the risks.
Milagres College Kallianpur always concentrates on the personality and skill development of the students and also conducts several programmes for skill development.
Department of Commerce under the banner of Commerce Association along with Career Guidance and Placement Cell organized the ‘Entrepreneurship and Skill Development Programme’ on 3rd November 2023. The programme aimed to instil and imbibe the students with essential entrepreneurial and innovative skills to prepare them for future career opportunities.
In the activity conducted, students were divided into teams and provided with charts where they were asked to showcase their Business Ideology and thoughts. They were asked to present their products by explaining the organization structure, the uniqueness of the product and company, the media used for advertisement, brand ambassadors, threats faced by the company, customer behaviour towards their product, and the financial position of the company. Mr.Ganesh Nayak, the convener of the Commerce Association guided the students in this activity.
The outcome of the programme was gainful. Students acquired a solid foundation in Entrepreneurship and innovation. It improved their problem-solving and leadership skills enhanced their ability to develop and present innovative ideas, increased their confidence to pursue entrepreneurial endeavours, and are visible in the creative as well as innovative projects initiated during the program.
Mr.Anil Danthy managed the programme. Placement officer Mr.Karthik Nayak, HOD of Commerce Department Mrs. Shylet Mathias, Mrs.Radhika Patker, Prof.Clara Menezes, IQAC Co- coordinator Mr.Jayram Shettigar, PRO Ravinandan Bhat and members of Commerce Association were present to guide and encourage the students’ fraternity.
