Milagres Friends Club (R.) Kallianpur, Celebrate Annual Day with Elderly Residents at Jyotsna Ashram.

Udupi: Milagres Friends Club (R.), A dedicated group of parishioners from Milagres Parish, Kallianpur, came together for their annual day celebration on Sunday, the 24th of September 2023. The event took place at noon at Jyotsna Ashram,  Thenkabettu, Kallianpur.

Jyotsna Ashram is an Old Age home renowned for providing exceptional care to its elderly residents and is under the able management of Mr. Leslie Lewis.

The esteemed gathering was graced by the presence of Rev. Fr. Valerian Mendonca, the Rector of the Milagres Cathedral, who presided over the event and blessed all those in attendance. Joining him on the dais were Mr. Melwyn Sequeira, President of Milagres Friends Club (R.)- Vice President of the PPC, Mrs. Eugene Rebello, Secretary of the PPC, Mrs. Prema Lewis, Coordinator of twenty Diocesan Commissions, Sr. Anita D’Souza, Head Mistress of Milagres High School, Gilbert D’silva (Chartered Member), Joachim D’Souza (Treasurer), and Patrick Lewis (Secretary). The event was gracefully compered by Mr. Xavier Fernandes.

A heartwarming highlight of the celebration was the distribution of gifts to all the senior citizens residing at Jyotsna Ashram. The gesture was met with smiles and gratitude, bringing joy to both the residents and the members of Milagres Friends Club. In addition to the gift distribution, a series of engaging games were organized, captivating the elderly residents and adding an extra layer of enjoyment to the occasion.

The day’s festivities concluded on a high note with a delicious dinner served to all attendees, creating an atmosphere of togetherness and community bonding. The event  left behind a sense of warmth and camaraderie that will be cherished by both the residents of Jyotsna Ashram and the members of Milagres Friends Club.
