Udupi: Mount Rosary English Medium High School celebrated its 27th ‘School Day, Utsav 2024’, on Wednesday, 27th November (and Thursday, 28th November) 2024. First day celebrations held in the open ground of Mount Rosary Church, day’s celebration highlighted the talents and teamwork of students, with enthusiastic participation from parents, teachers, and the school community.
Day 1: Classes KG to IV:
The first day of Utsav 2024 was dedicated to students from Kindergarten to Class IV. The vibrant program began with a prayer, warm welcome dance, followed by a series of cultural performances. These included energetic colourful dances, melodious group songs, and entertaining skits by tiny tots from KG to Class IV children, which reflected the creativity and enthusiasm of the younger students.
Earlier at 4.00 pm distinguished guests led by Parish Priest and Correspondent of the School Rev Dr. Roque D’Souza, Chief Guest Ms Akshatha Kulal, Asst parish Priest Rev Fr Oliver Nazareth CSC, Rev Sr M. Jane Joseph SRA, Superior Goretti Convent, and Management Committee members and Vice President of the Parish Council Mr Luke D’Souza, PTA Vice president Mrs Rathna Pratap arrived to the venue in a colourful procession led by the vibrant School band and were escorted to the well decorated spacious stage by Head Mistress Sr Ancilla R. DMello and SPL.
Senior Teacher Meena extended a warm and cordial welcome to the guests and gathering, followed with bouquet of flowers. Head Mistress presented a crispy Annual Report of the academic years 2023-24, highlighting various achievements and milestones, especially the 100% results continuously for the 7th consecutive year.
The Chief Guest, Ms. Akshatha Kulal, proud alumna of Mount Rosary English Medium High School, was deservedly honoured with a traditional shawl, bouquet, and memento. In her address, Ms. Kulal reflected on her nostalgic days and journey at Mount Rosary and advised parents to minimize distractions for their children, particularly in today’s digital world. She encouraged parents to provide a supportive environment for children to seize opportunities and explore their potential.
The Guest of Honour, Mrs. Shabana Anjum, Block Education Officer (BEO) of Brahmavar, was also felicitated with a shawl, bouquet, and memento in appreciation of her presence. In her felicitation address, Mrs. Shabana Anjum lauded the efforts of the school in nurturing young talents. She emphasized the importance of laying a strong foundation in early education and praised the vibrant performances of the students. Her encouraging words were met with admiration and applause from the audience.
Presidential Address by Rev. Dr. Roque D’Souza:
Rev. Dr. Roque D’Souza, in his presidential address expressed immense pride in the school’s achievements over the past 27 years since its birth in 1997. He congratulated the students for their exceptional performances and acknowledged the dedication of the Head Mistress, all the teachers and auxiliary staff in nurturing young talents. His words of encouragement inspired everyone to continue working towards academic and extracurricular excellence.
Rev Fr Oliver Nazareth, Guest of Honour recognised the special donors with memento as a token of appreciation. Senior Teacher Neema proposed vote of thanks to all who made the event not only successful but beautiful and enjoyed by the large audience. The whole event meticulously presented by students in pairs deserves appreciation and pat on their best performance.
The first day of the 27th School Day celebration, Utsav 2024, was held on Wednesday, 27th November 2024, on the open grounds of Mount Rosary Church, was dedicated to the students of Kindergarten to Class IV, who showcased their creativity and talents with great enthusiasm which was concluded at 8 pm.
The audience was captivated by the innocence and enthusiasm of the children, who received loud applause and appreciation from parents as it showcased school’s dedication to nurturing creativity, confidence and teamwork. Senior students of Class V to X are anxiously looking for yet another day of fun tomorrow 28th November 2024 at sharp 4.30 pm.
