The wooden Pulpit  in Milagres Church Kallianpur during the 1960’s was situated in the middle of the church in-order that congregation could hear the Sermons, as PA System (mic) were not available at that time. Later the Pulpit was dismantled and currently placed at the left side of the alter. The top portion is at the right hand side of alter covering the statue of  Michael Archangel. The bottom section is used as a stand for the statue of  Sacred Heart of Jesus.
There are still more woodwork pieces to see in the Church. The main altar where the huge statue of Our Lady of Milagres is placed was of wood and painted gold flowers. However part of the wooden carvings are now painted in green and yellow. Other few wood work may be seen in the photograph.

Dear Owen, I always find your articles nostalgic. I remember the Pulpit was in the middle but didn’t know it was to help congregation to hear the sermons. Please do continue to enlighten us. Your articles would be a source of archive for future generations who would seek to learn the history of Milagres Church and its institutions.

Yes Pradeep, the Pulpit was in the middle left of the church after the third pillar from the sanctuary. Had a wooden staircase at the side.
I was fascinated by the white dove on ceiling of Pulpit as we were told that Sermons are helped by the Holy Spirit.
