Udupi: As the nation woke up to celebrate the landmark 75th Republic day, the Shri Vidhyesha Vidyamanya English Medium High School in Heradi Barkur presented a beautiful programme to remember the great sacrifices of nation builders, the armed forces and the selfless leaders in the School Campus.
At 9.30 am, a colourful parade was witnessed with patriotic songs and talks to recall the sacrifices of our forefathers. Mr Gokuldas Kamath a well known businessman and philanthropist of Kalchapra Barkur unfurled the national tricolour.
‘India is a great nation, celebrate its unity in diversity, a holy land given birth to 4 world religions Hindu, Jain, Buddhism and Sikh…..which account for 25% of world population….also a proud country which gave itself the best Constitution in the world, about 75 years ago on this day and since then registered a spectacular growth in almost all fields…’ – Mr P. Archibald Furtado, Admin. Coordinator of National Group of Educational Institutions Barkur informed the gathering and ‘its our duty to safeguard the goodwill, unity and contribute in all possible ways, to be worthy and responsible citizens of tomorrow’ he reminded the young minds, while enjoying the fruits of hard work of our forefathers.
In the beginning Ms Dhanya extended a warm and cordial welcome to all gathered, while Ms Jansitha Quadrus compeered the event meticulously, as teachers Mrs Jyothy Shetty and Physical education directors Mr Suresh Shetty and Mrs Jyothy directed the whole programme along with teaching and non teaching staff. SPL of the High School, Mr Karthick at his best in his introductory speech to highlight the days significance as a national festival as it rejoice unity in diversity.
Headmistress Mrs Likitha Kotary ensured that 75th Republic day celebration in SVVN to be recorded as one of the best as the School is at the threshold of celebrating two decades of imparting value based quality education in this rural areas.
