I had the privilege of attending the Jackfruit Mela held at the SMS Auditorium in Brahmavara, and it was an enchanting experience that surpassed all expectations. From an astounding display of diverse jackfruit and mango varieties to an array of mouthwatering jackfruit delicacies, this event was a true celebration of nature’s bounty.

As I strolled through the event, I couldn’t help but be captivated by the myriad of jackfruit delicacies that tempted my taste buds. From the classic jackfruit fritters (gariyo) to the irresistible jackfruit holige  payasam, sheera, each dish showcased the versatility and unique flavor of this remarkable fruit. I indulged in a refreshing glass of jackfruit milk shake  and savored the creamy goodness of jackfruit ice cream served in charming boat-shaped Areca nut bowls. The crispy jackfruit chips and delectable jackfruit Manchurian were a perfect blend of flavors, leaving me craving for more. The unique special jackfruit Biryani podi, bursting with aromatic spices and the essence of this tropical delight. And let me not forget the tangy jackfruit pickle that added a zesty twist to the entire culinary experience.

While the focus of the event was on jackfruit, there were other delectable products like kokum mango pickles and preserves powders with their unique blend of flavors. However, the true highlight was the natural honey with honeycomb, a rarity that showcased the purest essence of nature’s sweetness. It was an unparalleled delight to witness the beauty and intricacy of the honeycomb, a testament to the wonders of the natural world.

From the renowned Anil Jack from putter a famous Jackfruit plantation vendor and Annapoorna Nursery, a dazzling array of jackfruit plants of different breeds adorned the surroundings, providing an opportunity for visitors to take home a piece of this extraordinary fruit and nurture it in their own gardens.
